About me

I am a software developer specialising in PHP and MySQL. I have been working in the IT industry for over 10 years, and I have gained a lot of experience in various areas of software development. I am passionate about programming and I enjoy learning new technologies and improving my skills.

I follow the principles of clean code and I eagerly utilize my skills by refactoring and improving existing code. I enjoy solving complex problems and optimizing software performance.

I am a strong advocate of open-source software and I have contributed to several open-source projects, including PHP, phpMyAdmin, Psalm, PHPStan, PHPUnit, and Doctrine DBAL.

In my free time, I enjoy developing games, reading maps, and playing Geoguessr. I also enjoy drone photography. I try to use my programming skills to help others improve theirs, and I have been actively involved in the Stack Overflow community for many years. I am an elected community moderator and PHP expert on Stack Overflow.

   • Performed services and consulting work as an expert for SAP Master Data Governance.
   • Developed custom enhancements and reports using SQL and the ABAP programming language.
   • Provided on-site guidance during the implementation of SAP MDG software at several customer sites.
   • Implemented intricate business rules using BRF+ in the area of SAP MDG and FS-CM.
   • Carried out successful implementation projects, both as part of a team and independently.

2. Intern Software Developer, Vodafone, Dublin

   Mar 2014 - Sep 2014

   • Worked on improving and enhancing network weathermaps as part of the second line support team.
   • Carried out maintenance for the existing code base written in Perl and GAWK.
   • Created new user interfaces for search functionality in HTML and CSS.

Open-source software contributions

As a member of the PHP organization, I have authored several RFCs.

PHP 8.1:

• Add fetch_column method to mysqli
• mysqli bind in execute
• Change Default mysqli Error Mode
• Deprecate autovivification on false

PHP 8.2:

• Remove support for libmysql from mysqli

I have also been an avid contributor, submitting various pull requests to the phpMyAdmin project.
